Henderson Beach State Recreation Area
Destin
Sugar white sand beaches and emerald waters provide the backdrop for laughing gulls, black skimmers, sanderlings, brown pelicans and the protected sea turtle.
This 208-acre park is habitat for sand pines, scrub oaks, southern magnolias, dune rosemary, and a variety of wildflowers. Boardwalks are conveniently provided to allow beach visitors easy access to the beach without damaging the dunes and vegitation.
Recreational activities include swimming, sunning, and surf fishing. Picnic shelters and bathhouses are available.
Henderson Beach State Recreation Area is located just east of the city of Destin on U.S. 98.
